Webex is a web-based video conferencing tool that allows users to meet online. For meeting attendees, WebEx is free to use and no account is needed. For meeting hosts, there are free and paid account options available.

1. Download and install WebEx

A WebEx account is not required to join a meeting. If you have not previously installed WebEx , you will be prompted to download and install the software upon clicking a WebEx meeting invitation link.

If you have not received a WebEx meeting invitation link, or a meeting ID and password, prior to your meeting, please contact your meeting host. You will need a meeting ID, and often a password, to join the meeting.

You may also install Webex from the Webex Download Center.  For Android or iOS, search for “WebEx” in the Google Play Store or the App Store on your device to install Cisco Webex Meetings.

2. Join a meeting

To join a meeting, either click on the link provided or start the WebEx application and click on “Join a Meeting”, then provide the Meeting ID.  If a password is required, you will be prompted to enter the password.

Some meetings will have all participants join in audio and video for real-time conversation.  Others may be a presentation style, where only the speaker keeps audio and video on during the meeting, while meeting attendees keep their audio and video off and communicate with the host and presenters using the Chat.
