All digital materials – eBooks, eAudiobooks, and digital magazines – are now accessible through OverDrive’s Libby app. You can browse and borrow all of our digital content, plus content from all Twin Cities public libraries, through a single collection called MELSA Twin Cities Metro eLibrary (melsa.overdrive.com).

 

eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines from Libby

Works with

eBooks and eAudiobooks

  • Check out up to 15 items at a time
  • Place up to 15 titles on hold at a time. An email notification is sent when the item is available
  • Items check out for up to three weeks and can be renewed through the app. (Default checkout is three weeks.)

eMagazines

  • Access more than 3,000 magazine titles, plus up to three years of back issues.
  • Magazines will have a lending period of 7, 14, or 21 days.
  • Magazines will not count against your 15 item checkout limit.

If you are new to using Libby:

  1. Install the Libby app from your device’s app store. If you use a Kindle Fire, download the OverDrive app.
  2. Follow the prompts to find the “MELSA: Twin Cities Metro eLibrary” collection, add it to your account and sign in with your library card number and PIN. The default PIN for your account is the last four digits of your phone number.
  3. Browse and check out your item.
  4. Read your item with Libby, or send it to your Kindle.

If you already use Libby:

  1. Add the MELSA collection to your account.
    • Tap the Libby menu icon, then click “Add a Library.”
    • Use your city or ZIP code to search for a library.
    • Select the “MELSA: Twin Cities Metro eLibrary” collection.
  2. Add your library card to the “MELSA: Twin Cities Metro eLibrary” collection. Then sign in with your library card number and PIN. The default PIN for your account is the last four digits of your phone number.
