Assistance With Your Search
Reference staff is available at the library, however, they are limited in the amount of time they can devote to any individual’s search. The library is fortunate to have volunteers assisting in the St. Croix Collection. We encourage researchers working on family history, or house and building history, to arrange to visit when a volunteers is scheduled. Contact with the Information Center at 651-275-4338, ext. 4876 for current schedules.

Of Note
Be aware that Stillwater Public Library does NOT maintain legal records that may be valuable for your house or building history search: e.g, deeds, abstracts, mortgage, land, or probate records. For this information, contact: Washington County, Property Records and Tax Payer Services, (651) 430-6175. Call the County or check their web site to determine the specific location of documents of interest. The county has several facilities where records are held, and maintains a number of online databases of possible use to the researcher.
